What makes great teaching?

I think what makes great teaching is the role of a teacher. A teacher takes on a lot of responsibility in the life of a student because they are not just an educator, but are a guide for their students. In my top five list this week a lot of my strategies were praised because of the connections it made between the content and the student.  The blackout poem strategy requires you to select keywords and phrases you think are significant from what you are reading and then blackout the remainder of the text. This leaves you with a powerful poem and an amazing visual for what you thought was most important as a takeaway.  The 3-minute pause strategy requires you to reflect and journal out your thoughts and emotions towards the reading. I loved this because it leaves you with a full understanding of what you read and how it now sits with you as the learner absorbing it.  The worditout strategy requires you to type in the important ideas, words, and phrases that stood out to you...
